City of Port Saint Lucie residents
Please acknowledge the petition so we can present it to the City Council for their support
Del Webb Tradition is reaching out to our Tradition community neighbors as well as the residents of the city of Port Saint Lucie to fill you in on our request of Mattamy Homes, Tradition’s Master Developer, to re-route a portion of the Tradition Trail.
We are disseminating this information so that all Tradition residents have a clear understanding of the Trail and why the residents of Del Webb at Tradition are asking for the Trail to be re-routed. DWT is a private, gated community. If the Tradition Trail is built as currently planned, it would allow access to any one on the Trail to the DWT community. There have been some people in the Tradition community who are saying that we want to STOP the trail, which is not true. We are only requesting that the Trail be re-routed.
Mattamy Homes has listened to the concerns of the Del Webb at Tradition residents and is working with them to re-route the walking nature trail through the nature preserve in the middle of the Del Webb gated community. The residents have come up with a plan to allow the Trail access to the preserve without access to the community at large. The proposal allows for a longer hiking trail through the preserve without compromising the security of the gated community. The proposal also allows for an entry/exit point of the Trail at the same locations, making it easy to drive or bike to the Trail, hike through it, and return to your vehicle upon completion. There would be two points of entry – one off of Village Parkway and one on the new Paar Road. The residents of Del Webb are requesting Mattamy to re-route the trail only 1,500 feet to the East so that it does not cut through the gated community of Del Webb. At this time, all Del Webb homeowners are asking for your support to “Move The Trail” by acknowledging this petition so we can present it to the City of Port St Lucie Council members.
Thanking you in advance for your support and understanding.

Private property should remain private and secure.
A gated community should not be open to the public.

Move the trail
What good is having a gated community if non residents can enter.
Wrong to put a public trail through a private community. We’re owners told about this trail being built BEFORE they bought their homes? Of course not!
Wrong to put a public trail through a private community. We’re owners told about this trail being built BEFORE they bought their homes? Of course not!
No reason for the trail to go through a
I'm building a home in Del Webb
For better access for the public to access the trails without entry to the gated community.
It's common sense...... who would want to buy in a gated community that is easily accessed by someone with ill intent??!
Del Webb is a gated community.
Trail should not go through a gated community, and a precedent was set when they moved the Trail to avoid going through the Mattamy community.
What’s the point of a nature trail that is looking at a recreation center and peoples houses. Moving the entrance does not lessen the trail. Mattamy moved it for the gated community , Telaro, they built, why not for this gated community. It wasn’t a safety concern for there community, Just a financial move to enhance sales. Great community support Mattamy.
Keep Del Webb a private community.
I live in pulte homes
Del Webb Tradition gets to remain a safe, gated community just as it was planned to be. Mattamy homes is a transgressor in this situation and harming the safety, stability and property values of Del Webb at Tradition
People who choose to live in a private gated community have a right to privacy and security which they paid a premium to have. Opening up that gated community to the public to put a trail through the middle of removes all privacy and security from the people who live there. Mattamy Homes should never be allowed to put trails open to the public through the middle of any gated community.
Mattamy homes needs to prioritize the safety of tradition.
Move the Trail. There is no wildlife 50 feet behind peoples homes in a gated community
Love the concept but not the layout. I paid to live in a PRIVATE ,SECURED GATED community. This trail as it stands will cross right through my front yard.
A private community should remain private
PRIVATE COMMUNITY
Resident of DW
It seems to me the integrity of a gated community should be upheld!
I would like to keep my new private community “private”.
the trail will still be there, just in a different place. Why is this even a question? It should not go through a gated community - just like it’s been rerouted so it doesn’t go through Telaro.
Ridiculous plan to intrude into a private development
I live in a gated community and bought here for safety and security.
Trail should not cut through a gated community. Proposed alternative does not take away from the beauty of the trail.
Private communities should NOT have public access. Rerouting the trail is an easy answer, and a way to keep the trail open to all.
We live in Heron Preserve, right across the street from Del Webb. Wasn’t a fan of having the trail directly behind our backyard on the nature preserve (50 yards or less). Noticed that moving the trail east will be farther from our houses, while still enjoying the nature preserve. I also agree that public access should NOT be allowed in a gated HOA community of Del Webb!
There should not be access to private community.
We live in DelWebb and purchased our home with the understanding that it would be a gated secure community. It was not mentioned that a trail would run through it!! Please just relocate the trail!
Mattamy has take control of Tradition! Where is our City Council's back bone? ENOUGH is ENOUGH! Now if they are allowed to start invading private gated communities there will be no stopping them from invading anywhere they want! Del Web is gated! It was advertised as a GATED community! It should remain closed to Public access! MOVE THE TRAIL!
Gated Communities should not be allowed to be opened to the public AFTER owners have purchased their properties thinking they were buying in a PRIVATE community!
I am a Tradition Resident in another gated community. If this "Master Developer" is allowed to invade Del Web this way what is to stop them from coming into mine next! GATED Communities should remain PRIVATE!
It needs to be relocated, period.
A developer bait and switch. Selling a gated community that now will be open to the public. And while Mattamy, the master developer is the one perpetrating this on the actual developer, Delhi Webb, it is still a bad faith move on their part and disrespects the current residents.
Privacy of residents
Public walking trails should not be allowed in a private gated community.
The public should not be allowed access to a private community. A public walking trail should not have part of it in a private community.
I would rather see this trail re routed outside of our community.
Privacy of residents
Trail should not go through a gated community.
Del Webb Tradition is a gated 55+ community. We do not want the trail inside Del Webb. Move the Trail!
Please move the Tradition Trail outside of DelWebb Tradition property.
Living in a gated community and do not want a trail through the middle of it
A gated community shouldn’t have a public access trail running through the middle of it
Privacy and to maintain the security of the gated communities.
The trail should not cross Gingerline but should be rerouted outside our community.
Things should stay the way they are.
Keep communities private.
can't imagine anyone going from a gated/secured community to wanting anyone be allowed to come in, anytime of the day/night. it effects them and not you, but remember you may need their support one day !
Trail should not go through a private community.
Private community means private
Sounds like a reasonable request. Hikers don’t want too see all the homes anyway.
We support the trail but not through the middle of Del Webb.
Supporting our private community
I believe we should respect a community's right to protect its homeowners.
I believe that the trail would be a good thing for tradition but mattamy should do it properly as they did for there telaro community by removing it from there community. Do it right mattamy and don’t infringe on Del Webb community
Del Webb residents are asking for the same treatment as other gated communities in the area which will not have the trail running directly through their property. I do not believe this will detract from anyone’s enjoyment of the preserve.
Trail should not go through a private community.
A gated community should not allow outsiders access unless they are expected guests. We live in a gated community and can’t imagine that being allowed.
Should not go through a gated community
We are also in a gated community in Tradition and understand why they would not want public access granted.
A solution has been offered and should be accepted to be fair to a community that thought it was gated.
The security of the residents living in this community. Having an open to the public walkway negates a gated community and breaches security for the residents.
I agree that Del Webb residents have paid for a secured/gated community. Having a publicly accessible path through their secure neighborhood does not align with the resident's understanding (or what they signed up for) when they purchased their homes. DelWebb management should also be involved in resolving this issue.
Keep the trail.
A private community should be just that and a nature trail should be just that, not a walk through a residential community.
The trail should not cut through the Del Webb Tradition gated community. Developers of the trail should reroute the trail so that it does not cut through any part of the gated community. Regardless if a commitment was made in 2006 to add a trail for Tradition (before the Del Webb Tradition community was established) existing homeowners in the Del Webb Tradition gated community should be able to maintain the safety and security of their homes, people and property by keeping public access out. Builders failed to plan for scale and our security. The residents of Del Webb Tradition have made a reasonable proposal. The builders have entirely too much power over our communities and once they leave the residents are stuck with the effects. The longevity of Tradition and its gated communities only happens by keeping the gated community private and secure. Reroute the trail through non gated areas of Tradition.
Keep gated communities gated. Limit access.
Path should not cross into Del Webb
Move the trail. This shouldn't breach a gated community.
Why have a gated community if the public can just come in from another pathway
A gated community is called that for a reason. Are they collecting an entrance fee for everyone who enters the community on the trail and lowering your HOAs…of course not!!! This trail THROUGH the Del Webb community is not fair!!
You should never compromise the security of a gate community by allowing free public access
Really you can’t move it? Private community means private
Reroute the path outside of the gated community.
Move the trail
I live in a nearby gated community and would be VERY angry if this was happening to my community
Do not want open access to people who do not live in Del Webb
A simple solution to the issue has been proposed to maintain the privacy/security of a gated community.
My wife and I chose Del Webb to live because it is a safe, secure, private gated community. Allowing a trail to enter our property not only defeats the private aspects, but invites security issues, trash and the unwanted higher costs to secure (and clean up) our property around the clock.
Defeats the purpose of a gated community if open to the public
The residents should be allowed to continue having their private community and not have to worry about nonresident traffic as well as safety being a large factor.
Mattamy Homes had been constructing at a furious pace. We came to Tradition 6 years ago for the peace and beauty it offered, now we see low income housing being built and now a trail encroaching on a private community. Mattamy and their Lobbyist's have taken over to the point that it has changed what we all thought was a haven. I support Del Webb fully in standing up to this bully. At least divert the trail. Mattamy promised a trail to Tradition residents. I don't remember being asked if we wanted one.
Gated communities should be allowed to be secure
No need to interrupt privacy of the community
Having a public trail going through a private, gated community is counterproductive and may impact negatively on the security of the Dell Webb homeowners.
We bought in a gated community for safety reasons.
Why would anyone agree to public access in a gated community??
It’s not fair to the Del Webb owners to have a public access trail routed thru their gated community. They paid a premium to live in a gated community and I’m sure continue to pay extra monthly in their dues. Mattamy….be a courteous neighbor instead of a bully and route the trail around the Del Webb property.
makes sense
Mattamy representative acknowledged that the trail entrance would meet resistance from residents of Del Webb when the plans were submitted. Now, we are here - stakeholders and taxpayers and our concerns should be given consideration and the entrance should be relocated.
Preserve the integrity of our gated community.
I can’t believe that Mattamy is even thought of this. It is totally wrong to allow strangers, vandals and whoever to have access to what we thought and paid for as a secured and gated community. Let insecure the Mattamy communities and see how their residents feel!
I live here and don’t want any having access to our neighborhood. This opens us up to vandals and even worse. Would Mattamy let this happen to one of their communities?? I think not! Then it should not happen to ours. We pay for the security of having a private front gate, but then we are going to allow just anyone walk because of a trail. Absurd!
I’m a new resident of Del Webb. The reason I pick this community is because it it a secured and gated community and should remain secured from others just being able to walk through. The thought of this even being a thought for Mattamy is totally absurd.
I’m going to soon be a resident of Del Webb. I picked that neighborhood because like many, it’s a secure gated community. It should remain that way.
Community is gated and should stay private. There are plenty of other places to walk to see nature. They Should have thought about this before putting in a gated community.
We chose to live in a safe gated community, this trail will make our community unsafe, and more costly then it already is.
Del Webb is a gated community that deserves the same privacy as any other gated community in Tradition. The trail should provide every resident of Tradition the same enjoyable experience without concerns for safety or intrusion.
Public access in a private /gated community is unacceptable.
Homeowners in Dell Webb bought their homes with the expectation that it would be and remain a gated community. This intrusive trail violates that expectation. Moving it, as requested, is a workable solution that in no way impacts the integrity of the trail and will satisfy the homeowners.
A gated community should stay safe and secure.
Gated communities have gates for a reason.
Mattamy Homes is a Divider, not a Unifier in this community. Move the trail for the benefit of the Del Webb community. A gated community is what it says, Gated... Unite do not divide...!
A public trail shouldn't go through a gated community.
It is wrong and unfair to put a public trail through a gated community. People bought in a gated community for a sense of security; inviting the public into a gated community is not right.
The trail should not go through a gated community.
Unfair to us living in a gated community
I live in this community and was not aware of the plans thought it was a walking trail thru our own community being built be delwebb .
Keep DWT secure by not bisecting community; rerout the trail
Reroute trail to keep DWT from being bisected. Precedent has been set
Should not disturb an established community.
Gated community should not have public access for any reason. Residents live in gated community for security and privacy.
The gated community deserves to remain private. They don’t need the public walking and biking through their neighborhood. Bad design by Mattamy.
i live in del webb and do not want the trail to come through our gated community.
Mattamy needs to be a good corporate citizen and reroute the trail so it does not infringe on the safety, security and liability for their Del Webb neighbors. Show that you care and do the right thing.
Agreed
As residents of Del Webb Tradition we would like to keep our community safe and secure. The trail should be rerouted so it’s not coming through our gated community. This would affect our safety as well as property values.
Trail through gated community is intrusive and offensive.
Living or Buying into a gated secured community does not mean LET’s PUT A PUBLIC TRAIL THROUGH IT BECAUSE WE CAN…OH BUT NOT IN OUR OWN COMMUNITY.
I don’t want strangers walking across my lawn
I don’t want strange people walking across my backyard
The trails an amazing wonderful idea but, my community pays to be a private gated community and the trail wants to go right through the middle of it. That is not acceptable.
This trail should not go through a gated community specially when this trail was planned since 2006 and del webb not even existed.
Concerned about security
To remain a gated community
This creates a security problem in a gated community. Manatamy could easily meet trail mandate by moving the trail and people could still have a trail. I bet they would not dream of putting the trail in there community. I guess we may have to start showing up at city planning meetings in overwhelming numbers. 2000 votes matter!
I do t want my community split by a public walking trail when the option to go around even extends the trail.
We bought into a gated community, and the trail as planned will no longer keep our community gated... Please move the trail
I would like our gated community to remain gated... I am in favor of the trail, just move it
To Keep our gated community secure.
I support Dell Webb residents because they bought the property because of its privacy areas. It is wrong they are now affecting it.
I support the Tradition Trail, but not going through the private community of Del Webb.
To prevent the trail from going thru our gated Del Webb community.
To keep my community gated and secured.
Security for our community.
I support the trail being built, but request that is not be placed inside our gated community but go around our neighborhood just has been done for all the other neighborhoods.
To maintain security within our gated community while still having a trail for all to use. Moving part of the trail is the best compromise so everyone who lives in the area is happy
It goes against all safety practices to allow unknown persons (strangers) to walk through the middle of a community at any time.
I support the trail, just not running through our gated community and crossing our neighborhood road. Please move the trail
I support the trail but not it running through our gated community and crossing our private road.
Security for Del Webb residents
Del Webb Tradition is a private community for people over 55. It is supposed to be a gated community. There is no reason to have trail with access and no security. A major concern is liability. If anything happens to someone- a fall, medical emergency, animal encounter, etc., we the owners would be liable. Our insurance rates would sky rocket and if there is a lawsuit resulting, it could go on for years negatively affecting property values and the ability for potential buyers to obtain financing. Maintenance is also and expense.
We are a gated community and do not want outsiders having access to our property. There are viable alternatives!
This trail will go directly through our gated neighborhood taking away our security. There are green spacer where it could be moved to out of our secured neighbors.
I support the Tradition Trail but it should not go through the private community of Dell Webb. Tradition. I believe if it’s re-routed around Dell Webb everyone wins.
We are a gated community. That path cannot go through our community Then what’s the reason why were a gated community. It would just let strangers in.
Because we are not a gated community so you let that path go through our community
Because a “nature trail” shouldn’t be going through ANY gated communities.
Properties that are sold as a gated community should stay as a gated community
It's ridiculous to even consider putting a trail through a gated community
The integrity of the Del Webb gated community needs to be maintained. Moving the trail as proposed will allow it to be enjoyed by all without compromising resident safety. Do the right thing!
Keep Del Webb secure
If they can do it to that community they can do it to others . File a class action suite too.
Moving the trail is the right thing to do for many reasons.
Del Webb community needs to be unimpeded by this trail and their safety is more important.
Safety
Live in Del Webb and want gated community.
Don’t want path going through my gated community
The trail should not go through a gated community. They can still have the trail, just keep it next to Village Pkwy until it passes Del Webb.
I do not want expose the wildlife that live in the area behind our homes scared away by humans going thought their habitat.
I live in Del Webb and I do not want our community and access to our Recreation Center and Mail boxes encumbered by a public trail splitting our gated community.
Del Webb residents support the idea of the trail but not through the gated community. Moving it around is an easy and cost effective solution.
The Trail can Easily be rerouted without it crossing the gated Del Webb community.
Maintain the designed community integrity as intended.
In support.
No gated , private community should have public access. There is a reason you pay for a gated community .
In the very first meeting with Mattamy, their representative acknowledged that the trail entrance would meet resistance from residents of Del Webb when the plans were submitted. Now, we are here - stakeholders and taxpayers and our concerns should be given consideration and the entrance should be moved.

I believe
It would be easy to reroute the trail outside the Del Webb gated community as they did for all other communities in Tradition and Port St. Lucie.
Security for Del Webb @ Tradition
We do not want the trail running thru our GATED community
I live in Del Webb and am worried about security if the trail bisects our community
Rerouting the trail will allow more and better nature access without harming the Del Webb community.
Please move the trail and keep gated communities private and secure in Port St. Lucie. Thank you.
This trail should never enter a gated community. Other options are available.
This trail should not be permitted to enter a gated community other options are available..
There is no reason a public trail needs to go through a private community. While the trail is a nice addition to Traditions, it shouldn’t be that difficult to reroute it outside Del Webb.
No trail should go through a gated community.
Strangers in our community.
Purchased at DelWebb due to it being a gated secure community. This intrusion into our community would negate this security.
Propsal will be nicer for all residents in Tradition!
For the safety of the Del Webb Community.
We are totally against the trail coming through our development. Had we known this was a possibility we would not have bought in Del Webb. I don’t understand how we can be a gated community with the trail going though our community. This leave us open to the public, we have a wonderful community and would like to keep it this way. Very sad we were misled and not told about this when we were looking at the models.
Moving the trail provides a longer path on the trail and is more cost effective than building a tunnel under Gingerline Dr. The trail has been moved in other parts of Tradition to accommodate residents of other developments, so there is precedent for doing so.
DelWebb is a gated community and that should never be comprised.
This is a private community. There are many other options for this trail that do not violate our privacy.
A public trail is a good thing but not the expensive of a private community .
It is wrong to have a public trail go through a gated community!
Don't want trail going through our gated community.
I’m not opposed to the trail. I want it to be moved. I moved into a gated community for a reason. I would like to keep it that way.
For the safety and security of the residents who live in Del Webb and pay for a gated community, it should remain gated. No one, except the homeowners in Del Webb, should have the authority to change the status of their gated community.
Homeowners of a gated community should have the say on what goes on with the development within their gated community.
A committee of Del Webb residents has been working for months to reach some kind of resolution to the issue of the Trail. We are the only community that will have our security threatened by the Current plan.. We urge Mattamy to agree to the requested (relatively minor) changes. Losing our status as a safe, gated community would have a serious negative impact on all of Del Webb’s residents.
Keep Del Webb Tradition undisturbed by the Trail proposed by Mattamy.
I would feel the same way if it was going thru our community. So many idiotic decisions are already being made let’s not add another one.
This great idea shoud not run through any gated community
I live in Del Webb Tradition
I live in Del Webb Tradition
If trail was rerouted by Mattemey to avoid encroaching on Telaro homes the same should be done for Del Webb.
The trail should not go through a gated community. Moving it to Village Parkway is the best option for not only safety of the Del Webb community but those who would be trying to cross Marshall Parkway.
I don’t want the public going through our gated community.
I wouldn’t want it through my community
We are supposed to be a GATED community
i tkink the home owners deserve their privacy and safety
Support Del Webb community's alternate proposal to keep trail from running g through the gated community
The very name "nature trail" implies that it would not go through a populated area, let alone a private development.
Del Webb is a private gated community and should stay that way
Don’t want trail too disect dell Webb
A gated community should not be open to the public.
The trail shouldn't go through any gated community. Please reroute the trail and listen to the residents valid concerns. Thank you.
Please let Del Webb stay as a safe, secure, gated community and move the trail. Residents should have a voice in this. Thank you.
No community wants a trail through it. This trail will jeopardize the safety of the people in that community allowing access to nefarious people whose intent is to burglarize or something more sinister.
The current proposed access point to the nature preserve should not cross over a major thruway of a private community. It makes sense to have it relocated as proposed by the residents of Del Webb.
If trail was rerouted to avoid encroaching on Telaro homes the same should be done for Del Webb. Especially since it’s not taking it far off the current route.
There is no need for the trail to go through Del Webb. The suggestion from Del Webb for it to be moved along Village Parkway is perfectly acceptable.
A public trail should not be going through a gated, private community.
A public nature trail is not appropriate to pass through a gated community. I fully support moving the trail while still providing access to the preserve area.
I can’t understand why the trail can’t be slightly rerouted so as not to enter a gated community. Common sense should prevail.
Should definitely not give access to a gated community!
Reroute trail OUTSIDE gated DelWebb community please!
Gated Community
There is no logical reason this trail has to cut through a development when there is a less costly and just as desirable option that can be utilized.
personal security.
Keeping residents safe by not having to cross Marshall Pkwy.
I believe the trail can be rerouted to accommodate the privacy of homeowners who bought into a secure gated community
Del Webb Tradition is a gated community. A trail open to the public does not provide us the security level offered at the time of contract. Mattamy Homes is not putting a public trail through any of the communities ( age restricted or not) they have built. There are alternative options along Marshall Parkway which would not impact Del Webb residents.
I live in a gated community. I would not want a public “trail” running through my neighborhood. That defeats the purpose of gated, private neighborhoods. This trail is like a public park to be used by anyone at anytime. This Dell Webb neighborhood pays an HOA to be private, not open for public use.
Please move the trail and let Del Webb remain a secure, gated senior community. Thank you.
None of the Mattamy properties are being compromised in this way. And since there is a very fair way to make everyone comfortable, please move it.
Those residents paid to live in a secure gated private community!
Mattamy-Please move the trail so it doesn't run through the Del Webb gated community. Keep the trail but do it the right way. Thank you.
Mattamy, Please keep the trail and re-route the trail so it does not go through the Del Webb Tradition gated community. Thank you for your anticipated support of this important community supported change.
Reroute the trail outside of Del Webb keep our community gated and secure !
A gated neighborhood should remain safely gated and not allow a public trail run right through the private neighborhood. Mattamy, as the owners of the property, have rerouted it outside of their neighborhood Telaro so we know it can be done.
A gated neighborhood should remain safely gated and not allow a public trail run right through the neighborhood. Mattamy, as the owners of the property, have rerouted it outside of their neighborhood Telaro so why wouldn’t you do the same for ours???
Mattamy , while bringing progress to our city doesn’t seem to have a clear understanding of what the people truly want . Showing respect For the privacy and notion of what a”gated community “ means should be at The forefront of their plan for this trail . So wrong that they don’t see this
Should not come through our community. There is plenty of open space outside our community to support the trail.
The trail SHOULD NOT go through a GATED COMMUNITY !! It is a SAFETY ISSUE for the residents of Del Webb ! Also, if it was moved for Telaro which is a matamy community, why should it not be the same for Dell Webb??
The request by the Del Webb community is reasonable particularly as Mattamy has rerouted the trail so it doesn’t dissect its own community, Telaro.
A gated community should not have strangers going through their community
A public path should not cut through a private community. This would lower the level of security and safety in the community.
Maintain a gated community for senior residents
We should remain a private community!
The trail should not go throw our development, I feel it’s a safety issue.
I moved into a gated community for a reason and I expect that promise of security to be upheld.
The Trail of fine. It just needs to be rerouted to below us and back into the preserve so it doesn’t cross into our gated community. Our proposal to Mattamy provides for an even longer get trail.
Rerouting the trail still provides the Tradition Community Access to the trail , while keeping the residents of DelWebb in a gated safe community. No other community in Tradition allows residents to be able to walk through their community. Mattamy does not allow this through their gated communities.
A reasonable request from Del Webb.
A beautiful trail can be rerouted and still afford all of the residents of Tradition the enjoyment of that trail as well as maintaining the integrity of the gated community of Del Webb.
For the same reasons Mattamy moved the trail out of Telaro- safety and integrity of a gated community. Nothing is lost to Tradition residents by re-routing the trail. It’s incredulous to me that Mattamy is actually resisting doing so . It’s time for Mattamy to show real Heart not just a metal monstrosity.
The trail should not cut through our community. We choose to live in a gated community for safety reasons. The public should not be able to walk - ride - or skate through our property.
This is a gated community and the public should not have assess to our community.
The founder of Mattamy established core values for his company! He stated that the core values are more than just words on a page! One of those core values is Community - simply stated leaving a positive impact on all of the community! As Master developer of Tradition and Del Webb being part of that community Del Webb has pleaded with the developer to not segregate our community as the only community that has the Trail bisect its streets! As Tradition residents did with the jumbo video tower Mattamy wanted to construct , please let them know the residents not Mattamy's makes those decisions!
I do not care for the fact that a trail entry that bypasses the security gates through any gated community for the general public access is acceptable. It whole heartedly defeats the purpose of security gates...
As stated in the Del Webb proposal the trail will only be re-routed by 1500' which seems very minor given the length of the trail in it's entirety.
Moving the trail would still allow the nature trail without infringing on the residents of Del Webb.
This re-route keeps the trail and is a longer trail than what Mattamy is proposing. This also keeps the gated community at Del Webb gated and secure. Mattamy has moved the trail already to ensure other communities weren’t impacted so precedence has been set. Please support our community as we would do for any other community.
No community wants a trail through it. This trail will jeopardize the safety of the people in that community allowing access to nefarious people whose intent is to burglarize or something more sinister.
1. Proposal as presented by the Del Webb Trail committee allows for the planned nature trail without disruption to the gated 55 + community of Del Webb . Everyone wins!
Safety for all
It is important to keep Del Webb a gated community. Making minor adjustments to the trail are not too much to ask since the other communities are not being asked to open their gates.
We are a gated community and should be treated as one.
Moving the trail makes sense, makes it longer.
To get the facts out correctly
Gated community would be wide open to anyone.
We want the trail moved so that it doesn’t go through our 55 plus community. We moved into Del Webb because we thought we bought into a “gated” community.
A re-route was approved for Telaro, which is a Mattamy community, so they do not have the trail through their private property. Why the objection by Mattamy to Del Webb’s request? Del Webb’s suggested re-route actually extends the length of the nature trail through the preserve.
I am in favor of the trail but it makes no sense to run a public trail through a gated community.
We want the trail moved so that it doesn’t go through our community.
Keep Del Webb a fully gated secure community.
A trail would be great to have but there is no reason to have it go right through a gated community.
live in Del Webb and need a safe secure home without strangers being able to access our home. We are in our 70's and fear for our future safety
Because if makes sense.
This option still provides a nature trail without cutting through our gated community.
As a resident of Del Webb at Tradition, which is a gated community, it is not appropriate to permit non-residents to enter our community without permission. The purpose of a gated community is to protect individuals and property from those that have bad intentions, are raucous and create litter.
Safety of our gated community
it's the right thing to do
We are in favor of the trail. But it should not cut through DWT. The opening and closing should be at the south end.
These people only want to preserve their community private and they should be allowed. No reason why the city cannot reroute it
Reduced property value, safety, noise and quality of life.
I do not want the potential for diminished property value to our homes and community because of a public trail in our back yard.
Keep the trail, just let Del Webb residents keep their gated community private
Del Webb residents want to keep the trail, the new route will extend the walking experience while while preserving the privacy and security of a gated community
We want the trail but we do not want it going through a gated community.
